Dear Women Who Reign,

I want you to understand that your worth as a woman in STEM is nothing short of you defining your own standard of success. You encompass what it means to be excellent. There isn’t a scale to measure your potential to succeed. The statistics for women in STEM is daunting. When you’re sitting in a math, science, or engineering course dominated by men, it can be difficult to believe you belong. It can be frustrating to work in a group and be assigned a lesser role on a team and have to justify every decision you make.

But you already know this. And yet you choose to reign anyway.

You reign, because you are excellent. You reign, because you are empowered. You already know the odds are not stacked in your favor, but you wouldn’t be a queen if you didn’t have the tenacity to fight back and push forward.
