Women Who Reign: Erica Engle
Happy Wednesday, Reigners! Erica and I connected over an event at USC. She is a quick organizer and very approachable…always a solid quality for an engineer! Read on below to find out more about her, find out how tech + finance intersect, and her advice on making connections.

Tell us a little about yourself along with a fun fact.
I am currently a student at the University of Southern California and from the Bay Area. I am an active person — running, hiking or rock climbing, I’m always in for an adventure. Fun fact is I have a twin sister who is one minute older than I am.
What # would define your life journey?
The number 2 defines my life journey. Move quickly, reach out for help when you need it and traveling with another person makes everything more exciting.
Favorite website / app:
Robinhood, I’m new to investing so I’m trying out a bunch of different outlets. This app has really proven its worth with free trading, beautiful UI and great content to keep me up to date on all of my purchases.
Technical challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it:
Working on my first mobile application in Swift only. I did not have many experts in the language around me and it is fairly new to a lot of developers. I had to get creative, but ultimately I learned how to create different actions, views, models and got a mentor out of it!
Ideal job:
CEO or CTO of a company that I start.
What knowledge would you impart to women in order for them to REIGN their lives?
Own your strong skills and build on your weaknesses. Be proud of what you can do, continuously learn and be sure to reach out to others when you need help. We’re all out here to help each other and succeed together, so don’t be afraid to make that connection.
