Tell us about yourself along with a fun fact!
When I got accepted to NYU during my senior year of high school. I did not know what major to choose. My 10-year-old dream of becoming a computer scientist had slipped from my memory so I dabbled in chemistry and dabbled in psychology. However, I could not find passion for those subjects. After two years at NYU I decided to transfer schools for financial reasons and began to look at the schools in my area, Troy, NY. I found that University at Albany had a digital forensics major and my passion for computer and technology came back to light. I’ve been happy in my studies ever since.
After realizing subjects surrounding computer science is my calling I began to realize that my gender and socioeconomic standing affected my choice of study. My high school did not offer and computer science courses so how was I supposed to know I loved it so much? I’m glad that I was able to find new opportunities with my college education.
Fun fact about myself is that I have been scuba diving in Bali!
