Tell us about yourself along with a fun fact!
I’m Nicole, and I am a front-end web developer and educational technology entrepreneur. I’m a proud Black and Native American woman, and the first female technologist in my family. Born and raised in Massachusetts, I attended Wellesley College and although I started with a Computer Science degree… I was encouraged to change majors when I didn’t respond well to the curriculum.

After years of working through the recession in a low-paying Customer Service job, I decided to rekindle my passion for tech. I took the plunge and taught myself to program at age 29, blogging while learning. I was shocked at how effective online courses and videos were to my learning, and I flew through material in mere months that had previously caused me to give up.

In 2018, my brand, La Vie en Code (“Life in Code” in French) is a blog, podcast, and resource site — and I am currently in the process of beta testing my first online prep course for folks who want to learn to code, 30 Days to Web Development…
